Legacy viewer export/copy problem -- Perhaps somebody at spss, please

Maguin, Eugene
I need to recreate the syntax file from the associated output file. The output file is an spo file and I have the legacy viewer and I can open the output file. However, I can't copy anything from it and I can't export or save the output file in any other format. I'm not happy about this but what else is possible? First of all, SHOULD I be able to copy log objects or edit log objects? Is there another way to read and save the file? Something else?

Hi Gene,

That's odd. Under Windows 7, the legacy viewer won't display (or export) graphs (unless admin),
but other output types are Ok. Copy-pasting pivot tables works fine, for example. Perhaps an installation error? An alternative would be SaxBasic, but that still requires SPSS <= v15. You can also use an unlicensed "old" spss version as a heavy-weight viewer. I wish that a spo viewer be included in the forthcoming version of SPSS though.

Regards,
Albert-Jan
