Lieberson's index of net differences

Tino Nsenene
Hello,

can anybody help me out please: unfortunately, somehow I dont't get how to
compute Lieberson's Index of net differences, a measure to quantify the
degree of occupational segregation between two groups.

Perhaps some of you can help me out with a hint to a "hands on" guide how to
compute this statistic which is described here:

Lieberson, S. (1976). Rank-Sum Comparisons between Groups, pp. 276-291 in
Sociological Methodology, ed. by D. Heise. San Francisco: Josey Bass.

Many thanks,
Tino

Perhaps you *could/should* provide an *ONLINE* reference to the specifics *OR* an actual formula and what any elements in the formula refer to wrt data characteristics (counts, pcts etc).
Not everyone has *easy/any* access to off line reference materials.  I for one am miles away from a crappy public library and even further away from any university!
Seriously,  I am far too lazy to do *your* googling and then write code for you too.
A great exercise would be for you to attempt to describe what this index is and what you have attempted so far.
A very quick look on GOOGLE suggests that RANK and AGGREGATE will be good things for *you* to look at.
