List Command output

Mark Webb-3
Hi all
I'm using the List Command to list selected respondents and a few variables.
e.g. List Variables = Name Branch Dept Var1 Var2 Var3.

When I copy & past into Excel all variables listed go into one column.
How can I get a SPSS output that will export into columns - like for example the Frequencies command ?
The print command is much the same.

Regards

 Hi Mark

If you use the Case Summaries option (from memory this is in thenAnalyze>Reports menu and in syntax SUMMARIZE) you get a list inside a pivot table which is the key to Excel compatibility.

From there you should be able to cut/paste or even export the table to Excel to keep more of the formatting.

Use the summarize command which will give you a case listing in a table from which you can copy the cells:

summarize name branch dept var1 var2 var3 /cells none/format list nocasenum.
