Lock code for SPSS download

My original licence code for my old computer has expired and I’m trying to get another download for my new one.  Does anyone know how to get the lock code to finalise the download of SPSS?   There isn’t one anywhere on my new computer: is it something that comes during the download?

There is an executable in your Statistics installation directory called echoid.exe.  Run that from a DOS window, and it will display the lock code.

I can’t even get as far as the download.  I tried with Firefox instead of Chrome (as recommended by IBM lady) and got right to the last step, but the Download button did absolutely nothing.  Chat exchanges got nowhere: long phone call to SPSS (US) got nowhere and another to SPSS (France) promised an urgent request and said I’d get a phone call back.  After three hours, nothing.  Last effort was Self-nomination with licence and lock code, via Passport Advantage.  If you want to know how it feels see my funny page: SPSS Without Tears (http://surveyresearch.weebly.com/spss-without-tears.html )  They say the three biggest sources of stress are:

I’m adding a fourth and fifth:

Setting up a new computer

Trying to download SPSS24

We need to move back to UK to be on-hand for mother-im-law (90 in October) so we’ve just put the house up for sale and will be moving house as well!
