Hello,
I am an economist running a logistic regression on small business participation in federally funded technology R&D. Patents Filed = f(C, University (involvement in the R&D), (is the company a....)Single Applicant (SA), (is the company a ....) Single Applicant with a Subcontractor, a Joint Venture (JV) member, the Joint Venture Lead. 82 observations over a 10 year period...all members participated in the Advanced Technology Program at NIST. This binary regression consists only of 1's and 0's. My question is: When I run the regression without the SA varaible I get results for all variables. When I run the regression with the SA varaible I get NA for the JV member variable. I would appreciate any advice. Any chance there is a coding problem with the SA variable? Can people be part of multiple, i.e. SA and JV? If so could it be that when SA is included, JV becomes redundant?
When you say "NA" do you mean that it blanks it out with periods and tells you that it's a redundant term in the model?
