The command will be read if it exceeds the maximum line length for syntax, which yours does, it appears. It copies and pastes as a single 277-character line. It will be wrapped automatically and run correctly from the syntax window, but if you were to save it as an sps file and run it via include or insert, it would not work because of the length.
Just break it at any logical point, and you won't have to see red.

Jon Peck

Subject: [SPSSX-L] Long equations
When calculating propensity, my equation is always red in the syntax editor.
It seems to run fine. Does SPSS not like it simply because it's too long,
or is there something else going on? Here is an example:
compute
propens=1/(1+exp(-((-0.0523156185507542*IMDS)+(0.107683778476795*SSI)+(-0.0323082953022306*DSS9)+(0.0181075676589564*AFSS)+(0.0188686431169817*HSTS)+(0.14401904208325*tsd)+(-0.0737602502594395*BCS)+(0.104597474851887*ADHDs)+(0.0548549121944296*int_ext)+(-0.589316037602126)))).
Thanks!
