Max-Difference Analysis using SPSS

Richard AK
Dear SPSS Users,

I would like to perform the Max-Difference using SPSS. We have
explored about this with Sawtooth software.

Does it possible to do all the procedures? Such as, creating card designs
and analysing using the Max-difference method.

If yes, please let me know the procedure for this.

Thanks in advance,

Richard

Re: Max-Difference Analysis using SPSS

Hi Gene Maguin,

Max diference is analysis is that where you can find the perceptions of the
customers.

For examples, A company would like to fix up a price for their upcoming
product which a have a minimal competition in the market. Higher management
have thought about 12 different types of pricing opitons. And they would
like to test all these pricing options on prospective consumers.

*By using the sawtooth we created some versions let us say 4. With in each
version we will create 9 cards. In each card 4 combinations of pricing
opitions will be selected. And each consumer will be shown only one version
of cards.*

With in those cards there will be restricted number of combinations
consumers will chose their Most desirable option and Least desirable option.

Then by using sawtooth software we will analyse cards and card designs and
find out the which are the best pricing options in the pre-defined options
for the business transtition.

Is it possible to make a design in the SPSS like this?

Thanks,
Richard.

Re: Max-Difference Analysis using SPSS

Maguin, Eugene
Richard,

The short answer is 'I don't yet know'. I don't know because I don't yet
understand how the calculation works.

An important question that I just realized. Are you asking whether spss can
be used to collect the data and analyze the data? Or, are you asking if spss
can be used to analyze the data once it has been collected?

Hi Gene,

I am looking for desigining of the cards (which is the first step) for
max-difference analysis and analyzing the results using the SPSS (which is
the last step in the analysis).

Thanks in advance,
Richard
