Does anyone know what the algorithm is for calculating the confidence
interval for the median when using the Ratio Statistics Command in SPSS? The following explanation from SPSS 15.0 help seems vague to me. From SPSS help: Confidence Interval for the Median (ratio statistics algorithms) The confidence interval can be computed under the assumption that the ratios follow a normal distribution or nonparametrically. There are two subtopics under "Confidence Interval for the Median (ratio statistics algorithms)"; click on "Distribution Free" and "Normal Distribution" under Related Topics or use the Contents pane. There's a fair amount of the algorithms online help that could be better linked from topic to topic and it's a good idea to open the Contents pane to see what's there.
