I am trying to merge 2 files using the Match Files command. File1 is already in SPSS format. File2 was originally in csv format but was converted to SPSS format.
When I try to merge files with Table = File1 and File = File2 by sorted byvariables the resulting data set includes File1 variable names but missing values for the variables, and variable names and values from File2. When I reverse the order with Table = File2 and File = File1 I get the same result: The file named in the Tables statement has missing values, and the file named in the File statement is complete. I checked the value formats in the csv formatted file and also checked the formats in the converted SPSS file but found nothing unusual. Any suggestions about where I might look next to resolve this? ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. Please post your syntax. (If you are not a syntax user, go through the point & click steps to merge the files, but exit via PASTE rather than OKAY to generate the command syntax.)

Simply run any procedure or an EXECUTE command!
MATCH does NOT pass the data. --
