Mismatched variable types Error doesn't show up on Error Tracking Pane

Mary-54
So I'm adding two files together in SPSS17, and there are a couple of
variable lengths that are different, so of course I get an error:

>Error # 5127
>Mismatched variable types on the input files.
>This command not executed.

Except it never shows up in the error tracking.  I actually like the error
tracking because it tells me if there is an error without scrolling through
lots and lots of pages of code.  But it seems like it doesn't really report
all errors.

Is there a way to fix this?  Or should I just stick to the old school method
of scrolling through the code for errors.

Thanks,
Mary

LIST command output file

Zdaniuk, Bozena-3
Hello, All. Is there a way to send the output file created by the LIST
VARS command as an excel file in which each variable whose values are
listed is in a separate excel column? Right now, when I save the output as
an excel file, everything is in the first column, probably because the
output is really a text file not a table, right?
