Hello.
I write with a question regarding how to import many datasets (text files, .dat) created from a Monte Carlo study from a different program. For now all I’d like to do is learn how to read in these simulated datasets, creating a single concatenated dataset that denotes each dataset. From there I'd like to get descriptive (e.g., univariate skew & kurtosis) for each variable across datasets (e.g., for variable 1, what was the average skew value across datasets etc.).
This is the first time I’ve tried to do this sort of thing in SPSS so I’d love to be directed to any web resources for how to do handle reading in many simulated datasets for the purpose of then doing some data management.
Thank you for considering my inquiry.
