Dear all,
Me and one of my colleagues are trying to do some multidimensional
scaling in SPSS with PROXSCAL. From a survey we have respondents'
evaluation of political parties (0-10), and from these evaluations we
ask SPSS to create proximities and measure distances between the
political parties in a multidimensional space. The stress and other
figures tell us about the fit between proximities and distances, but
can we, with the procedure of in some other way, test the validity of
the creation of proximities? That is, can we test the overall fit of
the individuals to the model?
