Multiple Rater Kappa 17.0 Mac

Christopher Pettineo
Hello,
I'm rather new to SPSS.  I'm using 17.0 for Mac and trying to calculate Fleiss' Kappa for multiple raters.  I have tried the macro posted by Nichols but can't get it to work.  Is it perhaps my newer version?  Is there a different or better macro for looking at the reliability of multiple raters?
Thanks,

Re: Multiple Rater Kappa 17.0 Mac

SPSS Support
Hi Chris,

You should be able to use the macros on any current release, including 17.0 on the Mac. (Although changes to SPSS made since the mkappasc.sps and other macros were written can produce warnings about files already being in use, this does not affect results). When you write that you can't get it to work, exactly what do you mean?

Art Kendall-2
if your rating are close to interval level you can also set up your
stimuli rated as cases and the ratings as variables to get an additional
reliability measure.

spss.IsBackendReady() == False

Albert-Jan Roskam
Good morning,

I cannot use Python in conjunction with SPSS when running Spss from the backend. That's quite impractical when typing code, because there's no colour coding in Spss syntax, etc. etc.
Is there any way I can make this work? I am using Spss 14.01 under Win 2000. I can imagine there's no easy fix for this, but I think there's there's no harm in asking.

Best wishes,
Albert-Jan
