I NEED YOUR HELP!!

Hello,

It has been a long time since I used regression and I need help
understanding the output. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!!

Let me tell you about my variables.

The independent variable is Physic Type with 2 values which have been
dummy coded:

0 = Traditional Physics Course Sequence

1 = Non Traditional Physics Course Sequence

The dependent variable is Credit Count.

1.      I understand that the R Square Value of .005 means that less
than 1% of the DV (Credit Count) can be predicted by the IV (Physics
Type)
2.      I understand in the ANOVA table that the Significance Value of
.283 means that the IV (Physics Type) does not do a good job explaining
the variation in the DV (Credit Count)

I am having trouble understanding the Coefficients Table.

My questions: What does the Constant B value of 1.137 mean?

What does Physic Type B value of .078 mean?

What does the Significance value of .000 mean for
the Constant?

What does the Significance value of .283 mean for
Physics Type?

Thanks for your help!!

This is the
predicted value of the DV when the IV is zero. SO it is the mean for
whichever course has a zero for its parameter.

What does Physic Type B value of .078 mean? This
is the difference in means between the two courses. SO the other course
has a mean which is .078 points higher than the one listed last.

What does the Significance value of .000 mean for
the Constant? This just means that the mean for that course is
significantly greater than zero, which is not of interest in this case.

What does the Significance value of .283 mean for
Physics Type? This means that the difference in means is not
significantly greater than zero.

All of this could be done with a simple t test for two groups, making
interpretation easier. The result will be the same. Thisre is no
significant difference between the courses on credit count.

Thanks for your help!!
