New SPSS tutorials using British Social Attitudes Survey (Earnings differences between men and women)

John F Hall

British Social Attitudes Survey

Differences between men and women in earnings (from paid work)

I have just uploaded two new tutorials to page:

3.2  Three (or more) variables:

Introducing a third variable. Controlling for test variables.  Elaboration.

They are easy to understand and follow, even for beginners, and it is not necessary to have access to SPSS or to the data.

3.2.1.5  Earnings differences 2009: Download and check file (16pp)
Stage 1:  Preparation for replication of 3.2.1.1  Earnings differences – Elaboration  (1989)

using data from 2009:

3.2.1.6  Earnings differences 2009: Extracting and saving selected variables (24pp)
Stage 2:  Preparation for replication of 3.2.1.1  Earnings differences – Elaboration  (1989)

using data from 2009:

[In preparation]

3.2.1.7  Earnings differences 2009:  Elaboration
Stage 3:  Replication of  elaboration  in 3.2.1.1  Earnings differences – Elaboration  using data from 2009:

To see if earnings differences have changed over time, further exercises will replicate exercises using data from the 2017 survey and from the cumulative data for all waves 1983 to 2017.

All feedback gratefully received.  Thanks in advance.
