Two new extension commands have been posted to the SPSS Community website (www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral) in the Extension Commands Collection.

STATS DATA DATE determines the starting value for dataset DATE specifications from a date variable in the dataset.  The DATE command requires the starting date to be specified from syntax along with the periodicity.  STATS DATA DATE is particularly useful when processing multiple datasets that may start at different times.  It requires the Python Essentials and at least Statistics version 18.

STATS STRUC CHANGE provides a variety of tests for structural change in a regression relationship for time series or other ordered data.  It includes six fluctuation tests and a generalized Chow test.  The output includes plots and test statistics.  It requires the R Essentials and at least Statistics version 20.  It may work with versions 18 and 19 but has not been tested with them.

Both commands include standard Statistics syntax and a dialog box interface.  Installation is via the Extension Bundles interface.
