A new extension command, STATS TABLE CALC, has been added to the Extension Commands Collection on the SPSS Community website (www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral).  It performs calculations on cells in a pivot table and updates the table.  It is similar to the post-compute facility in CTABLES, but it works for most pivot tables, and it has a more general expression language.  The package provides a dialog box interface and traditional Statistics syntax.  It requires the Python Essentials.

The IBM Information on Demand conference takes place in October in Las Vegas, NV.  On the SPSS Community site you can find information on sessions that might be of interest to SPSS users and a special discount offer.  The additional early registration discount ends August 31.
