Sorry for the off-topic post but I was thinking that maybe someone on the list (especially old-timers) might be ableago whileI had access to a Sun workstation and use layout coding for a Postscript version of troff (psroff; roff=run off or print). They are all text files but I had used some progs/filters toinsert equations (via eqn), figures and graphs (pic, grap), version of theseprograms, please let me know. The most critical one is eqn which I had used to format equations (and I don't really want to learn LaTex or a new equation editor). It would nice to have grap and pic for some flowcharts, etc., but not as critical. |
Googling on this topic is not encouraging. There appears to be an ancient groff available from the gnu site, but I don't know what it includes. One glimmer of hope is that Win 10 includes an optional bash shell and Unix subsystem that might be able to run the Unix code. I expect, though, that the apps would need to be rebuilt. That could be a quagmire. I used to have the MKS Toolkit for Windows, but I parted ways with them years ago when my version stopped running on my Windows version, and their upgrade pricing became completely unreasonable. They are owned by somebody else now (PTC), but you could ask what they support. My guess is that the Win 10 Unix support has been bad for their business.
