Hello,
I have a series of IV's that are ordinal - (1 not at all important, 2 not too important, 3 neither, 4 important, 5 very important) and DV's that are ordinal - (e.g. Seldom, Occasionally, Often). I have been reading a lot about both Ordinal Regression and Multinomial Logistic Regression, but I am unsure exactly what the difference is between them and which one is the most appropriate for my data and research questions. I would greatly appreciate some advice on a few questions. What characteristics of these two analyses will help me decide which is more suitable for my data/ how would I work out which is the most suitable? I am also confused about creating dummy variables. My IV categories are coded as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and DV categories 0, 1, 2. Will I need to create dummy variables for each of the IV and DV categories and recode the responses to 1 and 0? Apologies if my posting is not clear. Katina ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command.
