Dear list: I just installed SPSS16.0 and tried to open up an output file from SPSS15.0. I discovered that SPSS16.0 cannot open up a lower version output file. In fact, the output files generated from SPSS16.0 have the extension of .spv. (and not .spo). Hence, I will be unable to open up any outputs that have been generated from spss versions lower than 16. Is this correct or is there a way around this? martin sherman

Install the legacy Output Viewer to read older output files. Run setup.exe
again and choose it from the list of things to install. -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Martin Sherman Sent: Wednesday, December 19, 2007 8:59 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: Output files in SPSS 16.0 vs SPSS 15.0 Dear list: I just installed SPSS16.0 and tried to open up an output file from SPSS15.0. Hello,
SPSS 16.0 has so many bugs and problems (see earlier listserv) that I removed it and went back to 15.3. I can't believe that they have not fixed the problems yet. Where do you get SPSS 15.3 ? I thought (and read on the SPSS website)
that there is a 15.0.1.1 patch is the latest ?
