Overall SET to have cells wide enough for value labels

Art Kendall
At this time, I am not trying to create camera-ready tables. I looked at
<help> for SET and at <edit> <options> <output> but did not find what I was
looking for.
But there are a few procedures crucial to data cleaning and documentation, I
would like to have cells wide enough for value labels.

I started looking at the /HELP from SPSSINC MODIFY TABLES  but have not
figured it out yet.
Is there one SPSSINC MODIFY TABLES command that would widen cells for value
labels in output from
FREQUENCIES, CROSSTABS, DISPLAY, & CODEBOOK?

MODIFY TABLES could set the row label widths for all of these procedures in one command, but could you live with a fixed user-specified width?

definitely.
If one sets a definite width, would longer values be wrapped or truncated?

You might also find the preference settings for min and max row label width useful.  See Edit > Options > Pivot Tables

They would be wrapped.

I am still running version 24.  I have attached a screenshot, but do not see
options for column widths.

Since I am only trying to show NGOs, potential difficulties with their data
rough appearance is not a problem.

What would be the syntax to set the width of all horizontal labels in all
tables?

That worked.   Thank you
For the archive. SPSS would not let me save it to the Looks folder. So I saved it to the desktop. Exited SPSS. Copied it. Navigated to the Looks folder. Pasted it.

Looks like that setting is not in Edit > Options.  Weird.  Try editing a pivot table.  Go to Format > Table Properties and you will see it

Then save that as a tablelook and set your preferences to use that as the default.  If the TL doesn't retain that setting - it should - this could be done with MODIFY TABLES code.
