PASW and ARCHIVES

Martin P. Holt-2
Hi ! I'm not having much luck accessing the archives using SEArch. I am new
to doing it: that's why I'm trying. But I'm not getting anywhere. Error
messages like, "Invalid item range specification - "UGA.EDU"." or if I get
past that,
"Missing parameter - specify a search operand." I've tried all the
permutations I can think of, but before I try anything else, I thought I'd
ask of anyone who knows how to do this normally, "Has the change to PASW
affected using SEArch......or is it just me."
Thanks,
Martin

I just went to

http://listserv.uga.edu/archives/spssx-l.html

and tried a few search commands including one with a range of dates.
What are you entering in the edit boxes that causes error messages?

Thank you for this, Art. I was trying to do it through
[hidden email] .
Using ListServ RefCard.

I'd got to it from the instructions at the bottom of each posting. Just an
idea...maybe the archives link could be put there too ?

Best Wishes,
Martin

That may be your problem. Are you trying to search at the Web site?
If so, the RefCard won't work.

The commands on the ListServ reference card are meant to be sent by
E-mail to the list administration: for SPSSX-L, that's
[hidden email].

(The ListServ list-management protocols date from well before the Web
existed. There was no real alternative to E-mail for sending commands.)

Not a bad idea. Comments from other people?
