I am trying to work up PLS (partial least squares) coverage in my
multivariate course. The PRESS statistic is central to PLS analysis
and it is discussed in the SPSS algorithms, where it says it is
available. However, I cannot find it anywhere in the PLS dialog, in
PLS syntax, or in sample PLS output. Any insights?
By the way, if others are doing the same and wish to contact me off-
list, I would share my draft class material on this and would welcome
tips and corrections.
Finally, anyone at SPSS know if they plan in a future version to
implement PLS path analysis, not just PLS regression?
Best wishes,
Dave Garson
