Password Protecting an Excel File Export from SPSS

Morrell, Ronald

Every month I need to prepare password protected Excel spreadsheets from a SPSS data set.  Currently, I’m using an Excel macro to do this.  I would like to do it through the SAVE TRANSLATE command, since it works much quicker.  I’ve been researching online to see if I can password protect these spreadsheets using the SAVE TRANSLATE command.  I know the help documentation does not show that functionality.  I am hoping that someone has figured out how to do this with the SAVE TRANSLATE command.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have a Great Day!

As far as I know, you cannot create a password-protected Excel file with Save Translate.

Re: Password Protecting an Excel File Export from SPSS

Morrell, Ronald

Thanks for the response, I was hoping I could.  Seems like it would be a nice feature for SPSS.
