In earlier versions of SPSS it was possible to copy a table from the
Viewer and paste it into Word. It arrived there as a graphic, which had the advantage that it could be resized to fit a space within a document, and resizing ONLY altered the size; the layout was unaltered. The same facility does not seem to exist in SPSS 16 (or at least, I can't find it). Tables copied and pasted in the same way end up in Word as a table, i.e. formatted text rather than as a graphic, and any attempt to alter size also tends to change layout. It seems that a very valuable facility has disappeared from SPSS. What solution might there be to this problem? ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. Try Paste Special in Word
Edit--->Paste Special. Or Right Click--->Paste Special I don't have v16 so can't test this. But try the different Paste Special options that are available to you once you have copied from SPO. I had tried that before without success, but I looked again and tried the rather unlikely option to past as "Files" and that does the trick. ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. In SPSS 16, tables are copied to the clipboard as rich text format or
unformatted text. What specifically do you want to do to the table that cannot be done with the table formatting controls within Word? -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of J Sutar Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 10:09 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: Pasting SPSS 16 tables into Word Try Paste Special in Word Edit--->Paste Special.
