Path diagrams

Salbod
I want to prepare publication ready path diagrams. I want to be able to edit paths (use various line types)  and coefficients (add asterisks). What software would you recommend I use?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I used the freeware CMAP Tools for creating path diagrams.
