Hello,
I am facing the issue of having provide to a customer a software/solution that will allow her to produce custom/pivot tables out of weighted data. That is, I was thinking of delivering them with a data file containing one weight variable and allowing them to generate tables out of that file. Currently they are using the pivot table functionality in MS Excel to obtain what they need, but I do not think that MS Excel can handle pivot tables with weights. Has anyone had to face a similar situation? If yes, how did you solve it? At this stage it is not an option for my customer to purchase SPSS and start using it, but if I am not mistakening I once heard of some pivoting solution within the SPSS package that could be used stand-alone... The SmartViewer is a standalone version of the SPSS output Viewer window. It includes all pivoting functionality.
