how can I check poisson distribution with p-p-plot.
I can find 13 distributions as test distribution, but no poisson distribution. Frank

Q-q plots are often preferred. The
standard Statistics q-q plot only handles continuous distributions, but
there is an extension command, STATS DISTFIT, that will fit various distributions,
including Poisson, and can give you both a Chi-squared test and a q-q plot
against those distributions. This command shows up as Analyze>Distribution
Fit on the menus once it is installed.
You can get this command from the SPSS Community website (www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral). It requires the R Essentials also provided on that site. Thanks,
I have the R Essentials but can't find the file (?) for STATS DISTFIT. Here I got stuck: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/groups/service/html/communityview?communityUuid=ab16c38e-2f7b-4912-a47e-85682d124d32 Frank

as a reference only: Windows Vista does not allow the installation in the pre-defined paths and returns an error message. Using Vista, one should not install SPSS on the C: \ drive to avoid that problem.

This is why we provide environment variables
for setting a different location for extensions.
SPSS_CDIALOGS_PATH SPSS_EXTENSIONS_PATH These can be set to specify one or more locations for extension materials and custom dialogs.
