Does anyone have any experience setting up dialogs or writing syntax for running a pooled cross-sectional regression? I spoke with an SPSS analyst who instructed me that it an be done in the advanced regression module using generalized estimated equations or Gen Lin but it is not intuitive on how to set up a dialog.
This analysis was done in SAS last year. I have a series of data regressing on three variables for 14 segments for a period of 12 years. In order to increase the stability of the model and up the degrees of freedom I'm attempting to use the same methodology that was done last time - running the individual segments and pooling the results from all of the segments to help support the estimation - a pooled cross sectional time series regression. Anyone know how to set up a dialog or write the syntax for this in SPSS? |

You are much better off doing a pooled estimation in a package that has routines specifically designed for that type of analysis, such as Stata, SAS, Limdep, Eviews, etc. David Greenberg, Sociology Department, New York University
