Problem Viewing Output

Jo Fennessey

Has anyone had the problem that output appears with small squares representing each space character.  Any advice on how to fix this problem.  I am using SPSS version 16.0.2 release date April 28, 2008 and I believe I have installed all patches and hotfixes.  Thanks for any suggestions.

i'm using v17 with Vista on new dell monitor and have a similar problem -- for me the underscore character  "_" often shows as a space and sometimes lines seem to get jumbled together

thanks

Hi Joanne.  You haven't got your text font set to Courier by any chance, have you?  When I first got version 16, I didn't like the default proportional font in the output, so changed it to Courier (or Courier New, perhaps), and things got very ugly along the lines you are describing.  The output was mostly unreadable.  In the end, I gave up fighting with it and reverted to the default SanSerif font.
