Hello, I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem creating
graph in SPSS 16.0. When building charts in SPSS 16.0 (using chart builder, legacy dialogs or in analysis report) the chart takes a long time to appear and when it finally appears it is extremely wide (bigger than my computer can effectively handle). My computer meets all the system requirements so it is not because of a slow computer. It does not matter what type of chart or what data I use the problem persists. This makes it impossible to work with SPSS 16.0 and my colleague has encountered the same problem. I wonder if there have been any similar cases and if you could recommend any solutions to the problem described. Hi,
See SPSS-Note below. Reinhart Willers Resolution number: 73253 Created on: Sep 17 2007 Last Reviewed on: Oct 2 2007 Resolution Status: Published - External Problem Subject: SPSS 16 Graphs with Chart Aspect Ratio set to (1,25) are too large/unusable Problem Description: I am using SPSS version 16.0 for Windows and have set my locale (Spanish, German, Portuguese) such that comma separators (1,25) are in use where dot delimiters would be seen in a US locale (1.25). When I create a new Graph using either GRAPH or GGRAPH, the charts are displayed as being extremely wide/large to the point of being unusable. Sometimes the charts will be drawn, but it will take over a minute for the job to be completed. How can I get around this problem? Resolution Subject: This problem has been fixed in the upcoming release. Resolution Description: This problem will only occur when non-integer values are used for the aspect ratio. 1.25 is being set to 1,25. To overcome this problem, please change your aspect ratio to use integer values. Make this change by selecting Edit->Options on the Charts tab. This defect has been filed with SPSS Development and will be fixed in the upcoming release. We apologize for your inconvenience.
