Projections of school student numbers

Clive Downs
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone use SPSS for producing projected numbers of students (pupils)
at schools (I am thinking of the UK education system
specifically, 'primary' schools (age 4 to 11) and 'secondary' schools (age
11 to 18), although the methods may be generic).

If so, I would be grateful to know of any methods you use to model things
like evaluating accuracy of projections, building in the various factors,
such as birth rates, churn, that influence numbers.

There are matrix methods of course for population projections, but perhaps
there are other solutions that have been designed in SPSS?

Thanks,

Clive.
