Question about correlation for categorical arbitrarily ranked variables

Jochebed Gayles
Hi is there anyone that can help with the dilemma below?

We are looking at some data interviews of youth and parents  and we want
to see how much their reports match on activities youth participated in,
and if they agreed on the relative importance of the activities.  Are
there way to look at this level of agreement with statistical
significance? An example of response patter is provide below.

For example, we ask a kid what his activities are and he might list:

1. Tennis,
2. Band
3. Hanging with my friends
4 Church.

The we would ask him to rank order these in level of most to least
important, so he might say

Church = 1
Band = 2
Hanging = 3
Tennis = 4.

We would also ask MOM who might say he is involved in:

1. Tennis
2. Church

and her rankings would be:

Church = 1
Tennis = 2.

 Can the association between mom and youth ranking agreement be looked
statistically?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joche
