Questions about SPSS Text Analysis for Surveys

Zolin, Roxanne (CIV)
Colleagues,

We are new to the SPSS Text Analysis for Surveys, but familiar with SPSS and analysis of qualitative data.

We have a few questions we hope you gurus can help us answer.

1. Is it possible to output the Category Web Table as a matrix, rather than the columns found on the tab by that name?

2. Is it possible to filter records?  We want to produce the matrix for individuals, who are represented by one record, or groups, who are represented by a number of records.  We will have unique identifiers for each individual and each group.

3. Can the Text Analysis tool "talk" to SPSS?  In other words, can we select records in SPSS and then analyze them in the Text Analysis tool?

Thank you for considering our requests.  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated - even if the answers are "NO".  At least that will save time looking for features that may not exist.

Kind regards,
Roxanne

Re: Questions about SPSS Text Analysis for Surveys

Zolin, Roxanne (CIV)
Dear Stuart and Colleagues,

Has anyone published research articles using SPSS Text Analysis in the methodology?

I tried a search in ProQuest to no avail.

Thanks,
Roxanne
