R version

Maurice Vergeer
Dear all,

by default, the R-extension for SPSS installs R2.8.1 . However many
R-packages are for higher versions.
I tried to trick SPSS into using R2.12.1 by changing the spsscfg.ini
accordingly. However, this did not work.
Is is possible to use a higher R-version. If so, how?
I searched the developers website but could find any clues.

Best wishes
Maurice

Re: R version

Jon K Peck
The particular R version depends on the Statistics version, but you must use the one that matches.  Although you may get a warning message when you use an R package built for a later version, almost always the package will work just fine anyway.

With Statistics V19, the R version is 2.10.1 (on most platforms), BTW.
