Dear list,
I hope you can help me with this. I conducted an experiment in which a small
number of participants had to give goodness ratings for vowels, on a 4-point
scale. There were two groups of subjects, each with a different native
language. The vowels consisted of an 11-step duration continuum from /e/ to
/e:/, and from /i/ to /i:/. There is only one datum per cell. I would like
to use a nonparametric test to evaluate whether (1) there is difference
between the prototype vowel (i.e. for language group 1 and 2, (2) there is a
difference between the language groups at specific points of the continuum.
Could you please advise me on what test to use?
