Re : Calculating Sig T in Custom Tables for Categories Calculated PCOMPUTE

Manoj Arora (DEL/Abacus Analytics)

Hi All,

I am using SPSS 21 and in Custom Table and in one table I have 3 categories Top-2, Mid & Bot-2 and using PCOMPUTE command I have calculated one category (Top2-Bot2). While calculating SIG T or Chi Square using Test Statistics, it is comparing for Top2, Mid & Bot-2 category. It is not checking for Category calculated using PCOMPUTE command. Is there way to calculate the SIG T for the category calculated thru PCOMPUTE command.

Regards

Manoj

Postcompute statistics are not included in tests, since they are (possibly nonlinear) functions of other category statistics, and computing the appropriate variances would be difficult in general.  However, you can create subtotals and choose to use the subtotals in place of the categories they apply to when doing tests.
