Re: First time asking a question

Cathy Mazzotta
Hi everyone,
This is a bit intimidating, as all of you are so adept at this.
I am a doctoral student at University at Buffalo (NY.
My team has some questions:
We have a Non-equivelent group design, testing a 5 week structured treatment group
compared to a treatment as usual group.  The population is battered women.  This is
a two site project.

We are looking at the effect of the New Structured group as it compares to the As
usual group on 3 measures:  Safety index, trauma reduction scale and a self-
efficacy scale.
So I have 3 continuous variables and one IV.
We will take a baseline, post test after completion of the groups and 4 follow up
assessments over the next 12 months.

Our question is: does the structured group produce greater improvement in reducing
trauma sypmtons, increasing self-efficacy, increase safety strategies.

We are discussing the appropriate anyalsis to use.
One of the questions we have a repeated measures situation so we are assuming that
we can use repeated measures. However we are stuck how else we can proceed.
We have considered MANOVA, MANCOVA and Regression.

If anyone would care to comment that would be great.  All feedback welcomed.

Re: First time asking a question

bdates
Cathy,

How many people are in the "treatment as usual group"?  Are there more
available "treatment as usual" subjects than in the New Structured
group?
