It appears that the simplest way is to compare covariate matrices using
Box¹s M
This is avialable in SPSS: GLM>multivariate
Put all continuous variable as dependent and the categorical variable as
factor
warning: data neede to be normally distirbuted
SEM alternative: build model with appropriate paths constrained to be equal
Not clear this can always be done without introducing other assumpions
