Re: Is SPSS moving farther away from its professional academic roots?

I apologize for my rant a few weeks ago.
Although I feel that over the years SPSS has become more commercialized,
that definitely does *not* apply to Jon Peck and Rick Oliver who do work
in an extremely collegial manner.

A couple of hours  before I was leaving the country for a few weeks,  I
started receiving emails complaining about two links in had mentioned.
These were links  on why one should not use a spread sheet as a
statistical package. I was embarrassed because I had not double checked
links I had used before.

The first link to a video was indeed broken and I should have checked it
before giving it out.

The second link asked for ID information before it would allow a
download.  This is what struck me as looking for sales leads. This is
just a small matter and my reaction was out of proportion. After cooling
off I saw that one can just uncheck  the boxes at the bottom.
