Re: [Jan leaving SPSSX-L]

Dear Jan,

I'm doing this as a posting, since I got a bounce sending it off-list.

At 11:00 AM 4/9/2010, Jan Spousta posted to SPSSX-L:

SIGNOFF SPSSX-L

Goodness! YOU'RE a loss to the list. I can hardly imagine ...

Best wishes to you!

And, the signoff message needs to go to [hidden email],
not to [hidden email]; the latter is the address for list postings.

-Best wishes to you,

Value Label & run tabs in Chinese - PASW 18

Thien Hop
Hi All,

I'm new to SPSS 18  & would much appreciate if anyone could help me out on this. I'm really stucked. I need to do value/ variable labeling & running tabs in Chinese (Traditional) but don't really know how do it.

I wonder if earlier version can support Language functions.

Thank you very much,

Hop

If you are running in a Chinese OS environment, things should automatically be set up for Chinese.

However, you can set the user interface language and the output language from Edit>Options>General.  Both Traditional and Simplified Chinese are supported.

I would also suggest that you turn on Unicode mode.  That setting is also on Edit>Options>General.

Dear John,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion! I'm in Singapore & running on English OS environment. I followed your advice to change output language into Chinese (I don't change the user interface to Chinese as cannot read Chinese). But I still cannot do Chinese labeling, it keeps warning: unmappable to Server Locale. Please kindly help resolve the problem.

Thank you so much,

Hop
