Re: Need Help - SPSS (Quota Balance)

Gaurav,

Did you see my reply to Joan on this same topic? It seems to me that my reply to her applies to your question also. If you think it does not, then reply to the list telling us how your situation is different. If you've applied the syntax I wrote for her to your problem and had problems then post your exact syntax and the exact error message text.

Hi Gene Maguin,

I got your mail ID from SPSSX forum. I am a new user for SPSS and stuck with my one query. I tried to get some clue but couldn't. Can you please help me on this. This is bit urgent to me.

I have multiple variables over which I have to select my total sample. In other word, you can say best quota fit from the total sample. for example: I have total sample of 1100 out which I have to select 1000 sample based on 3 different variable quota Age, Gender, Region.

Gender: 50%:50%

Age: 25%:30%:30%:15%

Region: 34%:33%:33%

But I am not getting how to make it work for 3 variable simultaneously. Can you please help me on this

Do let me know if you have any query.

Regards,
Gaurav

Apparently Gaurav has great difficulty responding to threads he initiated in the past and lacks the netiquette to realize it is incredibly rude to send unsolicited email to persons who help on the list.
See this for the previous thread in which he received considerable unacknowledged responses.

Seems to me this is a course assignment: should we be helping at all?  I wonder where they are based and who the tutor is who expects SPSS newbies to tackle such a problem?

Applogies David for the inconvenience.

But I was not quite sure about the list and that's why because of writing single mail to list ID which Now I think automatically circulated to all member, I keep writing to each individual. I am really sorry about that.

I had raise this query in past and due to some problem I was not able to access my mail from last few week, so I was able to respond.also there are lots of mail in my inbox so couldn't get the exact mail. sorry for this

If I could know, truly know, that the question was an assignment, I'd refuse on the theory that the instructor is responsible for their students and students in the class can help each other. But, we truly don't know.
