Re: SPSS 15 and AMOS 7 under Vista OS - patience

Lemon, John S.
At the risk of starting a 'flame war' I would like to add my two
pennyworth ( for those the other side of the Atlantic - "two cents" ) to
this thread - in a previous reply to the forum Kyle pointed out that
SPSS had been tested under the beta releases of Vista but when the full
commercial release arrived the final tweaking for the commercial release
meant that the licencing modules of SPSS failed to work.

Rather than compalining about the 'shoddy' approach to testing SPSS we
should be grateful they are trying to get a patch out - we have at least
two major items of software which fail under Vista and "will not be
compatible until the next full release scheduled for Q4 2007" !!

I know it is frustrating when this happens but those of us who have been
in computing since the days of paper tape and punch cards are happy to
get updates in a few weeks. In the past updates to software packages
were confined to major releases that happened every 2-3 years !!

Best Wishes
