Re: SPSS 17 random halts in production mode

Simon Phillip Freidin

Hi

Whatever this instability was, it’s completely fixed in SPSS 18 (running on the same programs, data, operating system, hardware as before).

cheers

Simon

Subject: SPSS 17 random halts in production mode

Hi list

I’m running a series of SPSS 17 jobs on a quad-processor.

They take about 9 hours to run. Most nights they run successfully to completion, but about once a week spssengine halts with a 0xc000005 access violation error in svrdmgr.dll at offset e736. The halt can happen during any of the programs and at any time of the night.

The Dr Watson post-mortem log is attached. Line 846 reads:

FAULT ->01abe736 8b10             mov     edx,[eax]         ds:0023:00000000=????????

Does anybody have an idea of what causes this halt or how I should I investigate it further?

cheers

Simon
