Whatever this instability was, it’s
completely fixed in SPSS 18 (running on the same programs, data, operating
system, hardware as before).

Subject: SPSS 17 random halts in
production mode

I’m
running a series of SPSS 17 jobs on a quad-processor.
They take
about 9 hours to run. Most nights they run successfully to completion, but
about once a week spssengine halts with a 0xc000005 access violation error in
svrdmgr.dll at offset e736. The halt can happen during any of the programs and
at any time of the night.
The Dr
Watson post-mortem log is attached. Line 846 reads:

Does anybody
have an idea of what causes this halt or how I should I investigate it further?
