Dear Lister
There are 5 groups of female rats: 1)high fiber level diabetic rats,
2)medium fiber level diabetic rats, 3)low fiber level diabetic rats,
4)controlled (no fiber intake) diabetic rats, and 5)no fiber intake
non-diabetic rats. I'll decide how much fiber to feed them, raise them and
mate them with male rats, and after the pups are born, I'll kill the mother
rats, take organs and blood to conduct analysis.
For the pups, I'll examine their abnormalities and/or death when they're
born, and then I will feed them all the same diet, weights them, measure
their blood pressure. 8 week Later, I will kill them and take their organs
and blood for analysis as well.
There will be another 5 groups of female rats to whom I'll do the same thing
as described above except that they'll be injected insulin to control theirs
blood sugar level as we do for human. I want to determine if there's
quantitative relationship between fiber intake level and insulin dose as I
told you before.
I am not so familiar with the experimental design my friend did. Could you
tell me what kind of design it is and what kind of regression I can use to
analyze the data in SPSS/SAS? Thanks!
Hans Zhu
