Re: error message

Yue Fan (University of Michigan)
Fix for Error message "Windows cannot find <your file name>. Make sure you
typed the name correctly, and then try again."

I had the same issue applying the 17.0.2 patch.

Fix: Hold down the Shift key while right clicking a .SAV file.  Select "Open
With" and then "Choose Program..."  Highlight the first SPSS/PASW in the
list, check the "Always use the selected program" box, and then click "OK."

(If SPSS / PASW is not listed, Browse for the program in C:\Program Files\)

The issue seems to be that the program update adds the updated program
alongside the old program entry to the Windows shell open command, instead
of replacing the old program with the new.  This has the effect of
attempting to open the file twice (first with new entry, and then second
attempt to with old entry) every time you double-click on it.

Hope this helps!

Yue
