Can anyone recommend an alternative text mining software with a great lingustic ability other than SPSS Text Analysis?
I do know how SPSS Text Analysis a lot. It uses a dictionary backend to do extraction and you can create categories with logic to pick up the extracted word to categorise the comments. However, if it is a long email, things become complex because I am uncertain if the logic stated in year 2011 for all the categories can handle the same logic check for year 2012.
It will be a risk if wrong classification happens and it would be a pain to run through all the 600 emails in the Text analysis for survey.
I do know that SAS also uses a dictionary to do extraction and categorization as well.
