Removal from the SPSSX-L list

Enzmann
Wed, 4 Feb 2015 10:14:41 I received a mail with the content

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You  have been  removed from  the SPSSX-L  list (SPSSX(r)  Discussion) by
saslmnt@LISTSERV.UGA.EDU.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wondering why I immedately re-registered to the list via https://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=SPSSX-L&A=1 (using the option to subscribe to the digest).

About two days later I received a note from LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UGA.EDU with the subject "command confirmation request cancelled" with the note that my subscribe command has been cancelled because I did not confirm it within 48 hours. However, I never received a command confirmation request (I checked all mail folders, including the spam/junk folder).

My questions: Why have I been removed from the list? Why didn't I receive a command confirmation request? Did anything like this happen to other list subscribers, as well? Is it possible that I (myy email address) became a victim of a spam/hacking attack? How can we avoid that this will happen again?

Your message is appearing in the archives at the links below, so you can still post to the list, at least.

Yes, three days later I was able to re-subscribe.

But I would like to know some suggestions as to what did cause the problem in the first place.

This list, and SAS-L, are hosted out of the University of Georgia in
the United States. The list maintainer is at
[hidden email]; you should send a note there inquiring
what happened.

=====================
To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to
[hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the
command. To leave the list, send the command
SIGNOFF SPSSX-L
For a list of commands to manage subscriptions, send the command
