Hi
I have exactly the same problem then Frank. But until now, every time I try to open a syntax file by double-clicking on it when SPSS is not already open, SPSS freezes. My software and hardware situation is the same then the one describe by Frank below. I hope this bug could be fixed soon. I am having problems with SPSS 15.0.1 freezing on startup during the license check (sometimes). When it freezes, I can't even use Task Manager to cancel the process and need to reboot the computer. I am starting SPSS by double-clicking on a .sps syntax file. I am using a site licence version of SPSS. I am using SPSS 15.0.1 I am running Windows XP Service Pack 1. I am using a high-end computer with lots of RAM and disk space. I am using a Novell NetWare server (this is where the syntax file is stored). I have reinstalled SPSS 15 (and the patch) and the intermittent problem still persists (most times SPSS starts without any problems). I can't seem to be able to find a specific cause. Generally I am not running other applications at the same time. Has anyone else had problems with SPSS freezing on startup and/or can offer any solutions ? Cheers Frank Milthorpe >>> Hello, We have a commuter license. When ever SPSS crashes I had to restart the PC to start the SPSS again! Otherwise it SPSS can't get the licenses!
