Repeated measures or multivariate analysis

Helmut Vorkauf
Hello, helpful people,

I would like your help on a problem I never had before.
I have data from a friend who asked me to help.

The data are from patients who received transplants from the same donor, two
recipients per donor.
For the pair of recipients I have 5 variables:

1. donor age,
2. age of the younger recipient,
3. age of the older recipient,
4. dep. variable for the younger recipient,
5. dep. variable for the older recipient.

(actually I have several pairs of 4 and 5)

The question is how strongly the donor's age and the recipient's age
determine the dependent variable.
Should I analyze by an analysis of repeated measurements, or do you think a
multi-(bi-) variate analysis is preferable?

Thankful for your recommendation
Helmut
